Business – Visa Requirements

Please note that only Indonesian citizens or foreign residents (KITAS holders) in Indonesia may apply for a Swiss visa with the Embassy of Switzerland in Indonesia. The Embassy of Switzerland do not disclose information regarding visa application to third parties.

If you have a short-term visa (e.g. Social/Cultural Visit Visa) for Indonesia, you must apply for a Swiss visa in your country of residence.

Requirements:
1. A valid passport or travel document, which must be valid for at least three (3) months beyond your intended stay in Switzerland. You are requested to produce your previous passports as well. Finally, you must provide photocopies of your passport’s biography page as well as your valid or previous overseas visas (Schengen, United Kingdom, United States etc.)

2. A Schengen visa application form, which must be fully completed and signed by the applicant. Incomplete forms will not be accepted and may result in refusal of your visa. Please leave your e-mail address as well as your contact phone number in case additional information is required.

3. Two (2) recent passport photos per applicant. Please refer to Schengen Photo Requirements on our website.

4. Flight ticket / itinerary. Open tickets are not accepted.

5. Hotel reservation with complete address and confirmation number.

6. Prior to your application an invitation letter from the Swiss business partner(s) must be mailed or faxed directly to the Embassy of Switzerland. The company in Switzerland is required to produce evidence of your existing business connections with Switzerland as well as to confirm that your expenses during your stay in Switzerland will be covered by the company. A hotel reservation with complete address and confirmation number is also required as well as any other relevant documentation establishing the purpose of your visit.

7. Depending on your itinerary, a valid visa in your travel document for the country you are visiting after leaving Schengen

8. Evidence of current financial circumstances – e.g. bank statements of last 3 months, pay slips, business and/or property ownership documentation, recent tax payment receipt etc.

9. Employment contract or a letter from your employer stating your position and salary.

10. Insurance coverage of at least EUR 30,000.- in all Schengen States covering emergency medical expenses, emergency hospital treatment as well as repatriation for medical reasons.

11. Please note that just bringing these documents will not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The Embassy of Switzerland reserves the right to request additional documents. In case of a visa refusal, the Embassy of Switzerland is not liable for any costs that might have occurred in the application process.

12. In case of application being rejected, the applicant will get the information sheet (Procedure in case of a formal refusal – Right to appeal). Therefore, the applicant may lodge a written objection against the decision within 30 days from notification with the Federal Office for Migration FOM, 3003 Bern, after the advance payment of an administrative fee of CHF 150.00 (Art. 63 of the Federal Act on Administrative Procedure, VwVG, SR 172.021. The FOM issues a contestable decision
